Tuesday Text: Parentexting™

Back home and planning our next visit.

Just remember that you heard it here first:
"spa" is a verb; The Bird said so.

Thinking of Going to a Happier Place....

Anybody wanna come with me?

You Are Aphrodite!

A total shining star with a ton of admirers

And no wonder: you live life to the fullest!

When things get bad, you can easily take off to a happier place

But occasionally, you need to deal with problems head on

It's All Good

Aquarius Horoscope from Cafe Astrology
February 14, 2011
It's a good day for diving into a project that requires attention to detail, dear Aquarius, as your awareness of the parts that make up a whole is stronger than usual. A tendency to harp over flaws should be avoided, however, especially if you are celebrating Valentine's Day. Allow yourself to unwind and relax, and consciously bring your mind above daily stresses in order to do so.
Creativity: Good ~ Love: Good ~ Business: Good
How good is yours today?
Allow myself to unwind and relax? Okay. In 4 sleeps:

Squeeeeeeee!

Note to Self....

...Pay attention in Beginner's Spanish Class tonight!

Aquarius

Aquarius is at their best when surrounded by water. If you're looking toward Europe, the island of Ibiza off the coast of Spain is about as wet and jet-set as you can get. You'll love the island's beautiful beaches, world-renowned night life, and natural wonder. This is the place where you can live out your fantasies by mixing with the international beautiful people and still being able to get off on your own.

Now I just need to go buy that Lotto ticket...
Where are you going?

Now get back to those snow shovels.

Saturday Plans

Okay, I know everyone is sick of all the whining, weeping and gnashing of teeth about the cold weather.  But I need you to know that I slept in a turtleneck and a sweatshirt last night.  It was -1 this morning, but has warmed to a sweltering 6 right now.  However, I am not going to dwell on that.  I have my battles to do.  My day will be filled with dealing with the wildlife here.

Just look at that %$#&%@*&% squirrel.  And he has lots of friends.  They actually ate another feeder.  Ate. The. Feeder.  Gah.

Meanwhile, in Costa Rica, the Mental P Rugrats report an oversized bathroom and a forecast high of 87 today.  Augie sent some pictures to me.  I am guessing their day will be slightly different.  I hope they don't strain themselves deciding which chair to settle in for the day.

Did I mention that I had to sleep in a turtleneck and a sweatshirt?

A Vicarious Vacation

Since we have already established the sad fact that I have a little issue with living my children's lives, I thought I should tell you that "we" are going on a vacation.  Yes sir.  It is 7 degrees here this morning, and the Mental Rugrats are on a plane right this very minute.  A plane to Costa Rica.  Yep.  Where I just checked the weather and it is a sunny 77 degrees at 7:30 in the morning.  Yep.  They are going with their father and stepmother.  Yep.  I was not invited.

What brats.
Guess I'll go shovel some more snow.
What excitement does everyone else have planned?

Beach Reading

I know you are waiting with baited breath to hear all about my little junket.  Miss K's business trip was a lot of fun.  For me.  I may eventually spill it, but just know this: I have never seen so much rain and mist in South Florida.  Ever.  In my life.

So, I did a lot of reading during my waking hours....

First, Twilight.  I love this book.  I cannot wait for the movie, and I'm going to get the next three in the series.  Any other freaks like me out there?  Hello,  Edward?
Next, The Shack.  I was both bewildered and enthralled by this book.  Are there any study groups out there to explain it all to me?
More of my waking hours were spent having a cocktail or two.  Hey, it was South Beach.  Wouldn't you?
Now, I'll just be in my laundry room.  And the grocery store.

A Sad Farewell

To my little weekend in Miami.

Friday in South Beach

Have you heard that I'm on a free vacation?
I am such a maverick.

Cheers.

Meanwhile, back in West Hollywood.
Miss Lucite goes to the pumpkin patch.

Where In The World Is....

Mental Mama?

Stay tuned for my freeloading story whereabouts.  Not Connecticut Hint:

I'll take guesses.  And if someone has the correct answer before I post my destination later today (say, 5 pm EST) they will get a prize.  A nice prize.  Well, nice to me;)  You'll have to trust my middle-aged judgment.

By the way: friends, family, pets, or anyone who actually knows where I have scampered off to, are not eligible to wager.  You will all be getting a fruitcake for the holidays. Get ready!

xoxo, MPM

Cocktails of Cabo

We loved every minute. Did I mention that I want to go back?

Villa Amanda

Hola Villa Amanda!

Rosario our housekeeper and Rodrigo our concierge. They were the absolute best. Ever. In my next life, I am going to have a concierge.

Mental pausing toes.

Squazz and I "won" this villa at a charity auction last fall.

You should all be happy that I only posted these two 'wave' shots. I took around 300 pictures of the surf. All of these pics were taken from our terrace overlooking the Sea of Cortez.

I can't wait to go back.

Call Me Ishmael

Or don't. Your choice. I understand your reluctance. Thar she blows.
Dolphins. Everywhere. Urp.

Squazz, Mav and Chief each caught a nice little fishy. I think the three combined specimens weighed a total of five pounds. Manly men. We ate out that night.

All Better

Yesterday's fishing adventure was not an entire bust...the menfolk each caught a fish. No marlin, but some tuna and an amberjack. The marine life was very interesting. Whales galore. A mother let us follow her and her calf about a mile or so...beautiful.

The other really cool thing was a school of porpoises that we intercepted. Make that a university. At least a thousand of them, and the water looked like it was boiling over the several-acre school. I wildly snapped pictures, and was not able to do it justice, so we will have to wait for Miss P to see if hers are any better. Not to worry, I will have a nice album on Flickr next week.

Oh, and the weather? 85 and sunny. I think there is a slight chance for a fluffy cloud to come by later. Today at home in Connecticut? 30 with a snow shower.

A Cure for Hot Flashes

When you are seasick, nothing else bothers you.

Cocktail Corner in Cabo

Well, it's not technically Cocktail Corner because Annie and Jules aren't here...But I am making the best of things with Miss K, Miss J and Miss P! Oh, and the menfolk, too. Squazz, Chief and Mav. The boys tend to busy themselves with golf so we can go about relaxing here at Villa Amanda.

Today was breezy, with multiple whale sightings. Now we are cocktailing here on the terrace overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Life is beautiful. Never fear, I will post plenty of pictures after we return next week.

Tomorrow we are going on a deep sea fishing adventure. Wish us luck.
