Monday Morning Memories

The Nashville Marathon has come and gone.
So have my Virginia Belles.
CBW and Baby Sis.
But not before they slogged through 13.1 miles.
In a wind driven rain.
Up and down Nashville's friendly, hilly roads.
In an amazing race time 2:37-- they rocked it.
While I waited in my toasty, dry car.
Dozing.

Oh, and there may have been cocktails.
Now, we detox.
We will let our stomach muscles rest from all the laughing.
And make plans for the next reunion.
Nashville Blogfest anyone?

Down Bavon

This shot does not do this painting justice.
I bought it when I was at Virginia Blogfest way back in July.
It was hanging on the wall opposite me while we lunched
That place (the inn) deserves a full post,
but today, we are going to focus on this paradise:
"Bavon's Special Light."
Bavon is where she lives.
Home of the best deviled eggs, succotash and hush puppies
on the planet.
I may or may not have eaten all these in one sitting....
Anyway, if you have never been there,
go to the Chesapeake Bay.
And just take it all in.
It is a magical place...

"the earth is not forever
islands of the Chesapeake
slip into to memory"

Lawsy

Aquarius - July. 19, 2010
The day ahead should be excellent. You've been searching for meaning behind recent events. No doubt there have been a lot of changes both at work and at home. You're bursting with new ambition. Today, Aquarius, you're likely to put all these experiences into the hopper, stir them up, and be grateful for the thrilling life you lead right now! You may not get a specific answer. Sometimes feeling grateful is an answer all its own.

Meaning behind recent events?
I don't think there are enough doctors for that.
But this beautiful lady right up there?
The gracious, beautiful, amazing Chesapeake Bay Woman...Who allowed all the nonsense that is Blogfest into her home.
And yes, I am "grateful for the thrilling life I lead right now."
Have. Mercy.

Downward Dog

My mommy is still at Blogfest.
They are posting all their silly pictures all over Facebook.
Everybody's laughing and having all kinds of fun.
And guess what I saw?
I Love George.
Really, Mommy?
You're wearing that button all over the place?
All I have to say is that you'd better be shopping for a nice present.
Gah.
Seriously, I can't even look any more.

This-n-That Thursday

Blogfest!
  • Cooler? Check
  • Sunscreen? Check
  • Muu Muus? Check
  • Wi
Okay. Let's just stop this mess right now. My mommy thinks she can just post all her flippy little Blogfest packing items and skip on out of here? Well guess what? I am in charge of this here blog until she gets back. She cannot do a thing about it because she has no wireless down there. Her cell phone doesn't work until she gets to Gwynn's Island on Saturday. Heh.

Blogfest-Schlogfest. You want some This-n-That? Here:
  • I hate that new "weight control" kibble you make me eat. I am not fat.
  • And that baby talk? Gah. I am not a baby.
  • And I sniff stuff because I am a dog. You named me Dora the Explorer. Helloooo? I'm explorin'. Mkay?
  • I would like lots more treats, too. And pretzels.
  • And those baths? They are no good. I hate them.
  • You cannot take me to the park too much.
  • Yes, I must sleep touching a part of your body. All night.
  • We don't ever need to go to that V-E-T place ever again. I'm good.
  • I would like a new marrow bone every time you return from the grocery store.
  • I am sick and tired of all the fancy collars, too. I'm a dog, not a dress up doll.
  • And I bark sometimes. Get over it. You baby talk. Gah.
So you just go to your dumb blogfest, Mommy. I've got this.

I have decided to ignore the Thunderstorm one.

Gwynn's Island Barbecue will go off without a hitch.

Now, I just need to find a suitcase large enough for all my medications and ointments.

Stay tuned for further Blogfest ramblings.

Nuthin'

I got it.
Good thing Blogfest is in two more sleeps....
Because we all know that what happens at Blogfest, gets spread all over the Internets.

Two sleeps.

Ahhhh Friday

Counting my blessings--
Wonderful friends.
Old and new.
Blisters are blog sisters.
We convene at this event.
Blisters are thoughtful folks.
They sent this basket as a housewarming.
Or I should say condowarming....
Look at the sweet bird's nest.
I just love birds.
All kinds of birds.
Happy Friday, my friends.
Be well.

I Wonder.....

...if I just stay in my pj's all day and do absolutely nothing?
I bet it would be just fine.
I can search the web for Virginia real estate.
I can read my stack of magazines.
I can read all the blogs on my menu bar.
I can laugh at all those nervous nellies preparing for that little event in Chicago.
I can gear up for a nice walk that I have no intention of taking today.
I can look at my blogfest pictures and organize them.
I can start dreaming about next year's Blogapalooza.
Where should it be?

Blue Mama

I miss all my Blog Festers.

I get to go back to Virginia in 32 days.
And I may never leave.
