Thanks for sharing. Touching. It's on my mind today, of course, like everyone else. I keep thinking of the families, like the father I heard interviewed this morning on NPR - he lost two sons, both firefighters. He'd spoken to them both earlier that day and said he had no regrets: how many parents can say the last thing they ever told their child was that they loved him and the last words their child said to them was I love you?

Here I go, it gets to me every time I think about it. I can't imagine how the victims' families cope. I pray for them.

The M&M's is a nice touch.

It's been great to go to so many blogs where people have remembered.

May we never forget.

How very heartfelt and touching.

All day I've been playing this day, 8 years ago, back in my mind.

I will never forget. Ever.

"Friday was the first time the anniversary was observed as a national day of service, following an order signed this year by US President Barack Obama."

I like this idea of this day being commerated as a Day of Service.
