Sweating and studying is hard. With you aversion of heat, the Pacific Northwest is for you.

Oh dear. Good thing you're making this trip to Virginia in advance of Blog fest -it will help ease you into the heat and humidity. Keep in mind the mountains are always cooler, so if it's hot there, then here it's.....well, I don't want to scare you away.

Enjoy C'Ville! It's a great town. If you can get out to Monticello please go, you will not be disappointed. Also, the Skyline Drive/Blue Ridge Parkway is gorgeous. There's a lovely hike at HumpBack Rock on the BRParkway that is not to be missed, especially on a clear day.

Sweet tea cures everything...even heat stroke;)

Ugh...it's hot here too. It's sad when you step out the front door and immediately start sweating. What I wouldn't give for some rain right now!!

No, no. Don't drink too much sweet tea. It makes you sweat! Ha!

Did you do the tour at Monticello? He designed so much of it. Very interesting place up there. Yes! It's definitely a college town and it's so much fun.

No AC in the dorms. Have you found that out yet? My son's roommate had a fan from the Sharper Image company. It was a tall post-looking device that actually blew out cooled air.

Yes, you can go to school full time because you are not too old. I have confidence in you.

It's such a beautiful campus. It may be hot, but I assume that at least it's not raining...

Have some more sweet tea!

Nancy said...

You're not too old to go to school full time, but it's only because you have more to do than the average college student.

Your daughter is gorgeous. It is beyond hot it is sweltering stinkin sweat running everywhere hellacious hot.

The only thing a bit tricky about having a crush on T.J is he is dead, that could be a minor complication.

He liked his wimens too.

Did you say something about tea?

Hi Lauren!
It's hard for me to believe that just a short five years ago I was exactly where you are now. Where did the time go?! It IS hot there in the summer but the town is adorable and the campus is beautiful. I still dream of having a little house in the hills above C'ville, ambling around the downtown mall hunting for treasures, having coffee under one of the huge old trees....
Bird will love it there and get a great education to boot. Have fun!

if you have an iPod, you should check out the podcast, The Thomas Jefferson Hour. It's a really cool podcost that's about an hour long and talks all about Jeffersons life and what they think his view would be on diffent subjects regarding modern times. Very intresting.
