This 'n That Thursday

Randomness interspersed with gratitude:

  • I am sick with a double ear infection and bronchitis.
  • Need to figure out how to boost this immune system of mine before radiation starts.
  • Gah.
  • Has anyone noticed how amazing the red grapefruit are this year?
  • I love my doctors.
  • There's a new study out that says you should have chocolate for breakfast.
  • I have the best family and friends in the world.
  • Here at The Complex, we are getting all new kitchens and bathrooms in the next few months.
  • Thank goodness for mammograms.
  • My dog understands everything I say.  She can even spell some words. Like B-A-T-H.
  • Lots of my friends live in my computer, and I consider this completely normal.
  • Have you had a mammogram in the last 12 months?  Have you?
  • I am a morning person.
  • Double ear infection.  At 52?  Seriously?
  • The is no greater comfort than knowing "It gets better."  None at all...

Agree. After a certain age, no earaches and I'm sorry to hear you're sick, Mama!

My friends live in the computer too and I love them lots :)

Love the last line because it's so true!!

I get a mammogram every summer! And my husband gets a PSA test every 6 months. (Only mammograms are free here but PSA tests are not .... so unfair).

I'm the same way!! I have many friends who live in my computer and I'm very, very grateful for them. They're as "real" as the ones walking around in my personal space. =)

Isn't it a gift to have wonderful doctors whom you can like? I'm happy for you & have a couple of longtime doctors who had to have scored A+'s in Bedside Manner. Cause they rock.

Dora sounds like she should have her own reality show. You know I'd watch it too! lol Girl, RHoOC had my jaw tripping last night......

Had my mam last Friday. They said if I don't hear anything by Tuesday, then all is well. I'm hoping so.
The red grapefruit is wonderful. I did notice that!
I can have an entire conversation with my dog. But then he's George the superdog.

Oh I hear you on the ear infections. I've had more in the past 5 years than I think I had as a kid. What the he#&@'s up with that? Maybe it's reverse aging. I think it's the precursor to being on the other side of the sandwich generation.

I hope you feel better soon. And yes Mama, I had my mammo last spring and will have another in about two months.

Hang in there.

Mushrooms are now considered a miracle food. Stick to vegetables and fruits, raw if possible. Don't you have a place nearby that serves up smoothies/raw vegetable juices? Load up!! Mother Nature has got the cure. You can't go wrong if you stick close to her.

I'm so sorry you're sick. I'll send positive thoughts in your direction. Love you.

Ugh. I still have horrible memories of crying all night w/ ear infections as a kid. But at 52? That's just crazy! Take lots of vitamin C and eat Mother Nature's best health helper... chicken soup.

For bronchitis, try apple cider vinegar, honey and whiskey, by the tablespoon... You're just vulnerable right now. Hell, I've been known to actually wear my little face masks to the store, from paranoia about kiddle germs. Yes, I'm not really a stable person at this point. Can you tell?

I had my mammogram (last week) and damn proud of it even though they still seem to have a flattened state of being. Flat & droopy? That's just wrong in so many ways.

And yes, there is no greater comfort than knowing it eventually gets better. Whatever *it* might be.

Now... God Speed to getting well my lovely friend. I feel so blessed to count you as my friend even though hubby thinks I'm nuts. What does he know? Sadly, he doesn't know Mama....

I hope you are feeling better soon! Ear aches are no fun at all... They Shepherd's pie sounds perfect to aid in healing, but so do the fresh fruits and veggies! And YES, the grapefruit this year has been amazing, I've been eating one every day for a couple weeks, YUM!

Had my mammogram on Monday, thank you for all the gentle reminders. Still haven't heard anything, so I'm hoping that's good news.

I'm sending healing thoughts your way, feel better soon!

YOU will get better, promise. I have been drinking ginger tea made with real ginger lately. (and I hope I don't jinx myself here) I haven't had even a cold this year. Here's what I do; three slices of ginger, not even pealed, in a mug. Hot water (boiling), steep (sp?) for 3-5 minutes and then add honey (local is best). I don't even take out the ginger, so by the time I get to the bottom of the mug, it is strong. I hope you feel better soon!.....smiles

Garlic (odorless) and Vitamin C to boost your immune system. It might help and sure can't hurt. Sorry you're not feeling well but hope you're tip top again before too long.

I got squished in November.
