This-n-That Thursday

Because of my revered age:
  • I can like being called ma'am.
  • I can appreciate a good hand-written thank you note.
  • A first aid kit is a good thing to have on hand.
  • So are multiple tweezers.
  • I can appreciate a simple thank you. Period.
  • I don't have to suffer fools or toxic people.
  • Differences of opinion are just that.
  • I like to play Bridge.
  • I appreciate and relish my down time.
  • I like my doctor. It's a good thing since I seem to see her often.
  • I can say "no" more often.
  • I don't feel unfriendly for not wanting to breathe second hand smoke.
  • I can honor my children's independence. Mostly.
  • I look forward to my annual flu shot.
  • It's okay to admit I don't like musicals.
How about you?

Love your Thursday insights - the crack me up.

Flu shots - hate them. I always get sick right after getting one.

Bridge - I haven't a clue. I used to play Pinocle, but I forget how it's been so long.

I too appreciate a thank you.

Have a wonderful day.

Because of my revered age, I

-am resentful that I"m the oldest one at work.

-hate looking in the mirror

-feel the need to shave every inch of my body including inside my nose and ears. And my entire face.

-think that every little ache and pain is Imminent Death

-feel like a watermelon on stilts most days

-get angry when the AARP sends me notices in the mail.

-pretty much stay in a bad mood thanks to the above plus raging hormones.

-cry a lot due to all the above too.

IN short, I hate getting old.

The End.

I got my flu shot yesterday and it hurt .. serious ... I was brave and kept my hurt to myself - as if anyone who knows me would believe that.

I dont tolerate toxic people especially those who hurt my friends ... I take hurting my friends as personally as being hurt myself

Speaking of tweezers ... and magnifying mirrors .. I discovered these blonde or white hairs that can be seen only at certain angles in certain light and now am obsessed with finding and removing them from the various places they lurk .. my nostril edges, brows, chin, upper lip .. GAH

I am older than old and have decided its better than the alternative ...

Thank you!

Wonderful positive post.

Thank you, mam.

Only musical I like is the Sound of Music :)

I'm learning to love my chins.

I will always and forever hate hot flashes.

I love my doctor!

I'm resigned to the flu shot.

I've made peace with my inhalers.

I change into my jammies when I get home from work.

My footwear is geared toward comfort, not fashion.

Age is a good thing - it makes you appreciate everything just that much more than when you were younger.

Just for the record - I love musicals!

Because of my reverend age, I

get a flu shot because it is a necessity in my profession.

I am completely intolerant of stupid people and stupid drivers

I have no patience...except with my family and friends (most of the time).

I don't like looking into the mirror any more and want to design a line of clothes that fit women of the same reverend age as me.

OK, I have vented enough now.

I'm with CBW about mirrors. Hate 'em.

Very cool list :-)

Like Ellen, I never get a flu shot. I think I get sick from them because of my autoimmune disease. Anything foreign like that throws my immune system into overdrive, and I get very sick.

Like you, I love my doctor, and I told him so. He said, "I don't do anything but order labs!" I said, "Oh, you do so much more to make me feel HEARD." I could tell that pleased him.

And Daryl? I feel your pain. I've thought of doing full face and neck waxes once a week. There is truly nothing more disturbing to me than finding all these little hairs to pluck!

Peace - D

I learned about the first aid kit a long time ago. I tend to fall. A lot.

You're so serene.

The m'am thing still gets to me. When I'm someplace where an ID is required to drink I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised *every time* when they don't ask for mine. It's because I feel like I'm about 24. I have to remind myself every time that I am, in fact, 38 years old.

I'm okay with putting down a book that does nothing for me.

I love musicals...
and i refuse to take flu shots and i wish my children were MORE independant and sometimes second hand smoke smells like heaven (we all know i have smoked for years) and I CAN say no i just seem to fail at it alot and I do NOT go to the dr unless i am dying... have not been in years and have no knowledge of HOW to play bridge and yes to differences of opinion and YES to NO TOXIC people allowed...and YES to tweezers in every room and car and van (the light is better out there) and YES to thank yous and thank you cards and ma'am is just required to all persons who are femal and older than the speaker as is sir... tis the southern way ya know.
LOVE YOU!!!!!!! :0)

I like the fact that as we get older carrying a bit more weight is good for us!

Chesapeake Bay Woman's list cracked me up! :D

Me? I've learned how to say "no" -- and most importantly, how to say "thank you".

Because of my revered age--I'm losing my mind---forgetting to tweeze, shave and sometimes, feed the cat. Think it's time for a doctor's visit? I like him okay.

The funny things is--for the last 15 years or so--- people (older AND younger than I) have been calling "Miss insert first name")---everywhere I go. If that doesn't say "OLD", I don't know what does.

Yep I like your list. Because of my revered age I can and do say NO when I don't want to do something now or not comfortable about doing something. I can't tell you the freedom I feel with that one!

I enjoy your This-n-That Thursday even when I am late and see them on Friday! Thank you!

I
... am starting to accept the few extra pounds that I never had before....just wish I could find clothes that were a little bit more flattering
....appreciate things more
.....don't like the things my body won't let me do anymore
......seem to want more "alone" time
