This-n-That Thursday

It's been a busy week for my little brain:
  • I have discovered that you can use the switch panel on my treadmill to lay a t-shirt out flat to dry.  It will not be disturbed there.
  • I have been very weepy about my babies' soon leaving me.
  • My closet is finally clean.  I am going to wear the same thing for the next week so as not to disturb the beauty of it all.
  • I cannot stop thinking about the first time I took my children to DisneyWorld.  The look on their faces at the wonder of it all is forever etched in my heart.
  • I need to scale back my volunteering activities.
  • Don't forget to visit Mango Girl and enter to win her gigantic martini glass/serving dish.
  • I cannot wait for this week to end.  But I want time to stand still.  What to do....

In honor of the bittersweet feelings you are experiencing, may I recommend some chocolate and a glass of wine. Rinse, repeat. Then go ahead and have a good cry, there's nothing wrong with it.

Then think about all the trips you can take to visit your fledglings. Then cry and have more chocolate and wine.

Crying is counter productive tho it is the best way to wash out your eyes, really ...

You could try walking backwards very carefully - but not if you are drinking or have had a drink recently - on the treadmill .. maybe it will reverse time .. did you see Benjamin Button? Brad Pitt is WAY prettier than Kate Blanchard, I am just sayin'

You can come visit me this weekend and we can get brunch and wander and you can see how much those little plants I put my window box have grown ...

...Oh I can only second what the MPM Peeps above me said and add that this too shall pass - there are brighter days ahead...{{{hug}}}*smile*

...Blessings...

The whole perfectly arrange closet and not wanting to disturb it - I totally get it. I don't clean out my armoire often but when I do - it is like a work of art. Such a shame to mess it up by getting clothes out!

I keep telling my niece that I want her to stop growing and just stay little. But then she informs me with a roll of her eyes that she is ALREADY a big girl...

I feel like I need a good cry too....should we meet over a glass of Chardonnay?

Enjoy the weekend...very exciting moments.

Melancholy baby...take care of yourself, my friend. There's always sunshine behind every cloud, tho sometimes it takes a little longer than usual to shine down on us.

There was a bar across the front of our treadmill. It made a most excellent additional closet for hanging pants. For an embarrassing amount of years.

I'm so glad my girl isn't going away. But in a way, I wish she had that kind of opportunity. Still it's a blow... it just hit me yesterday. My youngest is graduating. Wow... no more lunch tickets, gym clothes, field trips...

I'm going to go cry now. Feel free to join me.

I agree with all who suggested the wine...

Clean closet? I am so jealous!, er, envious!

I have a Nordic Track I have never used...funny, I woke up thinking about it. If I don't use it today, it is going to the curb tomorrow!

It does get easier...somewhat...a litte bit.

Dang, who am I kidding...it stinks.

Yes...come to VA and share good food, wine, and song with us. We have sun.

Sounds like you need some sunshine.

If you put a treadmill in the basement, it's a good place to put things that need to be put away.

Stop by after you drop Augie off - we can drown your sorrows in a case of Chardonnay. Then you can help me with my closets. Oops, I'll be away when you drop him off. Sorry!

Isn't taking your child to Disney World the first time just the best? I got to see not only my spawn, but my brother's four spawn experience it at the same time - priceless.

Hang in there baby, the week's almost over.

You're crying now because they will leave. You'll be crying later when they bring you a month's worth of dirty laundry and expect you to wash it in one day. I'm just sayin'. :)

Sounds like you need a serious dose of dark chocolate and/or a big glass of wine along with some sunshine.

A good ole shrimp bawl makes me feel better with Corona and limes of course!

Just remember...a mothers heart is for etched moments...so we can look back on them while our little ones make their own way.
Ok shutting up now. Who am I kidding...sniff,sniff.

I'm feeling weepy too (although not because the babies are leaving but because they are coming and I don't feel prepared).

I say we meet at drink thirty?

I feel for you. Empty nesting is a tough one. Oh but as I glance over to the left, I see that Chesapeake Bay Woman has a brilliant coping mechanism.

MPM.. sorry your feeling down..Have to caution you DON"T FEED the Chipmunks close to the house... trust me.. i did that once.. only took once to teach me never to do it again. I had a few coming to my porch.. so I started feeding them.. they were SOOOO cute.. loved them.. but they told are their friends.. and they invaded.. screens won't keep them out..lol.. they quickly loose their fear of humans that feed them too and have no mercy on toes..lol.. trust me, if your gonna feed them, don't do it on the porch..lol... hugs to you

I get weepy when I think of my upcoming empty nest and I still have about 5 years to go!

I really like the wine and chocolate idea!

Who needs a closet when you have a treadmill?

I think it's interesting that you are thinking of the first time you took your kids to DisneyWorld, the same week you are grieving their leaving. I need to remember that.
