This-n-That Thursday

Without further ado--
  • Seriously.  Rain?  Enough.
  • Wishing my Baby Bird luck--she has 4 AP exams this week and next...
  • Do I want a Kindle? The new one looks really nice.
  • Is it possible to be allergic to your own self? Maybe it's just mold.  Did I mention we've had a lot of rain lately?
  • I am trying to figure out how to commute from here to UVA each week this Fall.  And still be able to go to Villanova for the weekends.
  • I am a little concerned that no one has asked me what I want for Mother's Day.  I don't really care, but I want to avoid bursting into tears when presented with a new skillet.
  • Why can't I remember anything?
  • Hugh Jackman?  What's the big deal?  I don't get it at all.
  • I went to Walmart for the first time.  Ever.
  • I am starting to turn into THAT old lady.
  • Before I forget, I love Walmart!
  • I think food snobs are more boring than people who do nothing but talk about the weather.
  • I have a girl crush on Mika Brzezinski.
  • Oh look.  It's raining.

I've been thinking about whether I want a Kindle or not as well. If fact, before I logged on to Blogger I was looking at them on Amazon. I still haven't made up my mind. Still raining?

The following words are foreign to me, have never heard of them:

Kindle. Hugh Jackman. Mika Brzezinski. Skillet.

p.s. UVa is only 3 hours from here, and I have a spare bedroom.

Gee, I was wondering, has it been raining where you are?

Who is Mika Brzezinski? I have no clue. Off to google.

If we are going to run together, you must become a WalMart fan! Or as they say in NC, the WalMarts...not sure where the plural comes from.

OMG...hand on heart, i am shocked..hugh Jackman...come on...have you seen his body in wolverine...i'm not saying its the only reason i enjoyed the film...no wait...yes i am...it is !!!

Room for let, only 30 minutes from 'Nova.

I can't believe that you have only just experience "the Wal-Marts!" You have led a sheltered life. It's like all the warehouse stores - you go in to buy three things and spend $150. And forget the three things you went in to buy.

You could always become a "Wal-Mart greeter" if you want to get a job.

As far the memory problem, once your brain dries out from all the rain it should improve. If not, a lobotomy may help.

HUGH JACKMAN!? I can't remember what I was going to say.

I got my MD gift early: yes, it was an electric griddle. All is still remarkably well here.

I don't think I'm getting anything for MD. It's probably for the best.

Kindle? Nothing...

RAin? Check!

I don't like the kindle...need real paper in my hands.

I hear you with the allergic to self thing...I seriously think it is possible. Just ask my rash.

And the rain. Pahhhhllleeeeaaassseeee! We have now resorted to playing the baseball and softball games in shin high mud. I think they may make it a new Olympic sport. Mudball.

What's a kindle? I guess I'll look it up now that I've shown my ignorance.

I love Walmart too...it't almost all we have locally.

We've had two days of record breaking rain fall, so I get it!

Good luck to Baby Bird taking her AP tests, I have a feeling my daughter will be there in a couple years.

You may have to get a personal jet?

And, what is the deal about WalMart? Why did you never ever go?

Sorry about your rain, and so glad ours stopped!

A Wal Mart virgin! Tell all.

Walmart is evil .. and unfair to their employees

Hugh Jackman is charming ... and that Aussie accent is hot ...

Kindle is a rip off, you can download the software to your iPhone .. yup .. for free! Go to iTunes.

Yeah, I hear you about the rain. We had a whopper of a storm last night and now yet another tree is down. And it crashed into the lilac bush!!
I had to google Kindle and Mika. I can understand the crush. I've got one on Rene Russo.
And Hugh Jackman is the nicest guy. I hear these things, you know.

By the way, 'Nova is only a stone's throw from the peanut butter store. Ain't that good stuff?

I refuse to shop at WalMart!

I hope your rain stops. We had a torrential downpour last night, but that's okay...it's watering my new sod.

Are you serious...you've never been to Wal-fart????? WOW! That's like my one friend who has never had a twinkie in her whole life...

Same here as far as Mother's Day....hhmmmmm

Sorry about the mold you are growing...I wish we would get some rain..we are hoping to maybe drop back down into the high 90's again...but I think we are movin' on up...noy diggin' it!!!!!!

Okay - the Kindle looks wonderful but . . . I am addicted to books - the look, the feel, the smell. The turning of the pages . . . I am just not ready to go to a Kindle yet. Maybe someday when my book stash is greatly diminished!

What did you get at Walmart?

And yeah the food snobs who act like they are going to die becuase you used a boxed cake mix...get over it.

Nancy said...

LOL! I love how your mind works. But there is much to be said about Hugh Jackman - just watch Australia.

My husband's birthday is today and we are waiting (him impatiently) for the kindle 2 to be delivered. He wants it, but I think I like the feel of books.

I hope you don't get a skillet.

Linda said...

Yes, what do you want for MD? I haven't been asked either, and will be surprised if I get anything. The kids will probably call...at least they don't call collect anymore! I am on their "Friends" list!

Wal-mart is the only store we have except the dollar store. We had the smallest on built, and now we have the smallest 'super Wal-mart'. Is that and Oxy-moron?

Deb said...

Are we twins separated at birth? Seriously? I agree with all said today. Although I have been a Walmart shopper for a few years.
Kindle? Very interesting and saves trees but what happens to the publishing companies?
Hugh Jackman...I don't get it. Really.
I am THAT old lady, yep!
It rains every day...I mean EVERYDAY! And more rain in the forecast. Now I realise that we have been in a drought for 184 years, but do we really need to get all of the rain in one season?
Who is Mika Brzezinski? Going to look it up.

Good luck Babay Bird. NSLO only has 2 APs.Can be good or bad??

I have to tell you I am in very deep like with Hugh Jackman. He is such a genuine person.Gave $100K to a tweeter's favorite charity that was described in 140 characters or less.

Don't know Mika, is that the singer that showed up @ school last year?

MD: No skillet here, I want a Revere Ware 4.5 qt handled pot.

Kindle...I like to feel the book pages as I turn, but let me know as NSLO has been thinking of one.

Suffering from "Where did I put it" myself!!

Mary said...

Ah yes, the AP exams... Katie took the first of four, and still hasn't recovered. Is it just me, or is it a heck of a lot harder to get into a decent school these days?

Walmart? What's that? ;)

Hugh Jackman? Much better sans facial hair.

Can't remember... what were we talking about?

Rain? Can't talk now -- gotta bail...

MamaGeek @ Works For Us said...

Okay, I MUST KNOW. Why do you love Wal-Mart? I. MUST. KNOW. My experience with WalMartians to date has been less than pleasant. WAH!

Rain rain go away.

Mary said...

Oh, I almost forgot... Mika Brzezinski -- I find it fascinating to watch her different hair styles. I really think she ought to stop copying Sarah Palin though...

send the rain down here. seriously. down HERE.

First time to Walmart? Oh my.

You'll be doing lots of weird things as time goes by, when you're not commuting! Maybe even Farm Town! Not.

Empty Nest has been known to make Mom's act really strange. Just sayin.
