Tuesday Tidbits

  • After going to meet my furniture in Tennessee, I am back in Connecticut until Saturday.
  • On Sunday, our beloved dog Dora was kicked by a deer and seriously hurt.  She underwent surgery, and has a jagged gash on her right side.  She also has a drain that will come out tomorrow.  The stitches will remain for two weeks.  The good news is that she doesn't have any broken ribs or any internal damage.  She will be okay.  But it sure scared all of us.  She will be well enough for the car trip to Tennessee on Saturday.
  • My new place is smaller than I remembered it being, but I love it.  And my storage unit is very full! My sister-in-law has declared the new place "quaint."  I have to agree.
  • I desperately need to get my hair done.
  • I had over 300 emails in my spam folder this morning.
  • I am obsessed with Instagram.
  • I am also very, very tired.

This 'n That Thursday

What a ride...

  • The moving truck left yesterday for Tennessee.
  • I leave in a few hours to meet it.
  • Then I'm back up here on Monday for the final wave of my "Goodbye Tour."
  • I am emotionally and physically exhausted.
  • I am also excited for what lies ahead.
  • My babies are going to be 21 one week from today.
  • Did I tell you how tired I am?
  • But I also need to add how blessed I am to have such a support network in my life.
  • Because I am so very blessed.
  • And so very tired.

Moving Day has Arrived...

Ready or not.

This 'n That Thursday

  • Has anyone ever tried to root a cutting off a mother-in-law tongue plant?  How long does it take?
  • I detest white shoes.
  • Did you ever eat those light green clovers?  The kind of bitter tasting ones?  I see them everywhere and just want to sit down and have a taste.
  • I also want to make a blade of grass whistle.
  • I think my move home to Tennessee is making me nostalgic.
  • I am using waves of nostalgia as a procrastination tool.
  • Tonight is my last bridge group here.  I wonder if my new, unsuspecting Tennessee bridge friends who have yet to know me will be as tolerant of my table chatter.
  • I am not allowing myself to get in the car and go anywhere until I have filled all my boxes and I need to go to Home Depot for more.
  • I have a new paper shredder, and I love it.  Dora hates it.
  • When I was a little girl, my soles had black dots all over them from running barefoot all over the bubbly, hot tar roads in the summer.
  • I think we should run around barefoot more often.  More nostalgia?
  • That new Good Afternoon America show is painful to watch.  Maybe I should turn off the TV and pack.

Monday Morning Musings

  • The Bird and others have informed me that my Monday horoscope posts are boring.
  • So now you get to see more of my mental prowess issues.
  • I have developed procrastination into a high form of art.
  • My babies were both under my roof the whole weekend!
  • We had a nice dinner Saturday, and I went to bed early.
  • Sunday morning, I found that The Bird had been busy helping her brother solve a tricky math problem:
  • The cute thing about this is that the top of this paper has her notes on my aftercare from my lumpectomy in January.  I was saving it as a memento.  Now it is even more special, as The Bird claims to not be a math student.  You coulda fooled me.
  • After I settled in with my computer yesterday morning, I discovered that after I went to bed on Saturday, they entertained a friend and then they went out to a party.  I discovered all this on facebook.  I heard nothing.
  • Yesterday, Augie took some furniture to his new apartment at school.  He was towing a 12 foot trailer.  I was a wreck the whole afternoon worrying about him.  All is well.
  • I have been completely wheat free for almost two weeks.  I am finding it easy, and I feel amazing.
  • Okay.  Gotta go pack.  Really.

This 'n That Thursday

  • I love Katy Perry.  This is my new theme song.
  • Why do some hard boiled eggs put up such a fight during peeling?
  • When did STOP signs become optional?
  • I should be packing.
  • Go see "Moonrise Kingdom."  GO!
  • I cannot get enough celery seed.
  • I am worried about the hummingbirds who visit my feeder.  I hope the new people want to feed them.
  • Actually, I am a little obsessed about all birds.
  • My babies will be 21 three weeks from today.  Where did the time go?
  • I think I'm going to find out what all the excitement over Downton Abbey is about.  That should keep me away from packing for a good while.
  • Annie is coming with me when I make the drive to Tennessee!
  • Any tips on driving long distances with a dog?
  • Okay.  I'm really gonna go get some packing done.  Later.

Living Spiritedly

Today's Aquarius Horoscope from Cafe Astrology

Mars is about to begin its journey through fellow Air sign, Libra, dear Aquarius, after many months in an incompatible sign (since November 2011). This brings smoother, easier energy and a more outgoing nature is stimulated now. This is a good cycle in which to do something that requires additional bravery or courage, as this influence tends to release some of your inhibitions. You are living spiritedly now. It's an excellent influence for competitive activities, such as sports or business as well, and it lasts until August 23rd. Today, avoid impulsive purchases and arguments.

Does moving halfway across the country count as doing something that requires "additional bravery or courage"?  Now if I could just get a grip on all this purging and packing.

How does your day look?  Wanna come over and keep me company?
